A total shortfall of £33m indicates a significant decrease relative to the previous year, when the amount reached £113.2m
United stated that they "fully support while following both Premier League's spending guidelines as well as continental financial compliance policies"
Earlier this year, industry experts placed Manchester United as having the fourth highest income in world football, according to the team's earnings of £651m in the previous year
