The Animated Series' Showrunner Has Seen Fans' Second Season Predictions — With Some Good News

The highly-awaited Season 2 of the adult animated musical series Hazbin Hotel debuts on Prime Video soon, and audience theories has been rampant.

The first season introduces a large cast of characters living within Hell and Heaven, sets them at odds with songs about their clashes, and builds heated competitions and angsty, affectionate connections that fuel fan obsession.

The community's expectations for the new season differ greatly, but certain threads recur frequently: Could a fan-favorite character break free from Valentino? Might we learn more about the binding agreement affecting the enigmatic Alastor? Might certain characters' relationships evolve?

"Obviously, I don't make the show with audience demands specifically in mind," the showrunner commented recently. "However I feel like me being a fan of my own show implies there's a lot of it just naturally. I also want to see these things, and I hope some of these things to occur, and clearly some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

The creator says her long-term vision is for a five-season run of Hazbin Hotel. Seasons 3 and 4 have already been green-lit by the production companies, which finance the series.

That might mean fans have to be patient for some of the biggest payoffs — but they could be shocked at how quickly the new season progresses, and how many of what they're anticipating happens this season.

"I feel like people are going to be highly satisfied," the creator notes. "There are several debut moments. I think we receive some really amazing disclosures, some fascinating origin tales, and even just simple things, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] We're going to hear additional musical numbers from the characters we didn't get to hear before."

She's certainly aware of the theories and desires about the upcoming season — especially in the form of audience prediction charts.

"I've come across a couple people make a prediction grid about season 2," she says. "Naturally I can't post it, but I've already completed a few items, and nearly every one of them have almost a bingo. I was like, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that makes me think we accomplish much [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I realized, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that brings me joy."

Hazbin Hotel season 2 premieres on the streaming service on Oct. 29.
