Paizo's Latest Adventure Promotes Metagaming in Shared Experiences
Paizo has expanded its offerings with their latest tabletop adventure, designed to welcome both experienced fans and beginners to the world of Golarion.
Blending RPG Elements
Gamers will traverse modular boards, confront creatures, and encounter over 400 story-driven obstacles such as unlocking rewards or interacting with stray animals.
"Our goal was to find common ground where all types of players will find something to enjoy," commented a key developer.
Accessible Dice System
Instead of the classic 20-sided die, users now roll special six-sided dice with icons indicating hits, special abilities, and opponent moves.
- Star symbols trigger class-specific abilities
- Skull symbols enable monsters to use their signature actions
- Skills can change outcomes by negating bad results or including beneficial ones
Branching Campaign
All decision counts, tracked on a progress tracker that shapes later adventures. Participants can return to earlier actions thanks to a reality-warping element featuring a time dragon.
Accessible
Despite incorporating Pathfinder character types, backgrounds, and story, the game is built for gamers without prior roleplaying background.
Adventurers level up post each quest, earning new powers and equipment along the campaign.
Launch Details
The game offers four character types—thief, healer, fighter, and sorcerer—with extra variants available as crowdfunding rewards.
An premium version includes figurines and exclusive material, while the regular edition uses standee markers.
Backer support will shape the complete size of the game, with planned add-ons currently considered.
Planned delivery is aimed at the first half of 2026.
